We haven’t posted a nice fungus or slime mould photo in at least two weeks, so here’s one of a very beautiful and very aptly named Cobalt crust fungus, otherwise known as velvet blue spread, which our New Forest National Park apprentices stumbled across on a stick whilst coppicing willow.

What an amazing colour. I have never seen fingii that beautiful colour. Well spotted by the apprentice.
