Misty day

A panoramic shot of a very misty Ivy Lake this morning – and it didn’t really change much all day! Quite atmospheric with wigeon whistling and the tree’s looming out over the low lying mist and good numbers of wildfowl all across the water…

Very mild today – I was leading the first “Wild Birthday Party” of the year (den building and campfire toast with 5 year old Gilbert and friends. Happy birthday Gilbert!) and the children were sat out by the campfire having their birthday lunch picnic just in their jumpers! Well, not just in their jumpers obviously, you know what I mean 😉

Water rail, great white egrets and bittern all showing on and off again today and lots of goosander remained on Ibsley Water throughout the day rather than heading off to feed on the River Avon or New Forest ponds.
