Don’t forget SUNday!

Tomorrow we celebrate International Sun Day and the summer solstice with members of our local astronomy group again. The Fordingbridge Astronomers will be here from 10.30am-3.30pm to enjoy our nearest star themselves whilst providing visitors with the opportunity to safely view the sun through specially adapted telescopes, allowing them to take a closer look at details they would never normally be allowed to view. The forecast could be better – but equally could be a lot worse so the event is going ahead regardless and the astronomers will just make the most of the breaks in the clouds when they come! If those breaks are rare they may choose to finish a bit earlier than the advertised time!

The following pictures were taken last at last years event, just to give you a bit of a taste of what will hopefully come, or alternatively follow the link to last years blog post: Celebrating the Sun!
