With the weekend upon us we’re looking forward to our first ever Blashford Lakes Local Crafts Event, which will be taking place this Sunday, 22nd March from 10am until 4pm.
The Education Centre will be hosting a number of traditional and wildlife related crafts, including leatherwork, painting and photography, with many stallholders offering demonstrations throughout the day. Local chainsaw carver Richard Austin will be demonstrating and showing his craft at intervals alongside the more traditional coppice crafts, pole lathe demonstrations, basket making and wood turning.
Children can enjoy taking part in a simple craft activity and light refreshments of tea, coffee and cake will be available. Please remember to bring cash or your cheque book as many stallholders may not be able to take a card payment.
The event is free to attend and you can drop in at any time, with all proceeds being donated to the Wildlife Trust. Please note parking at the Education Centre will be disabled parking only.
With our easily accessible paths and bird watching hides why not combine the event with a stroll around the reserve as it blossoms into Spring?
We hope you can join us on the day!
