Quick update…

Apologies for the lack of recent postings… no news is good news?

On the otter front none have been reported since last Friday (despite lots of people looking!). Having said that the wildfowl behavior on Ivy Lake early this afternoon was indicative of otter, so maybe they were there and just keeping their heads down so to speak.

The great white egret is being seen most days and we still have at least one bittern and mealy redpoll.

Goosander Hide remains closed but I hope to have it open by late next week/early the following week.

Tern Hide and car park are open now, but with heavy rain forecast we may need to close the car park in which case, as is the case generally in recent weeks, unless it is exceptionally flooded the hide itself will still be opened, but possibly only accessible in wellies – anyone booked onto the “Come into roost” event take heed! We will ring if we need to cancel, but it would be worth putting your wellies in the car just in case!
