I’m on a day off today, but Ed just rang to say that there are tree’s down everywhere and that there is no power in the centre. I’ve checked with Scottish and Southern and they have advised that the earliest that they will have power back on will be 3pm today.
Adam is coming in to help clear up the aftermath, but for the time being the majority of the Blashford Lakes nature reserve will remain closed until further notice – and probably the best part of the day at least (with the exception of the main car park and Tern Hide, which are now open and should remain open all being well). Once the paths have been cleared and Ed is happy that it is safe the reserve will be re-opened, but it sounds like they have got their work cut out before that can happen.
As well as tree’s Ed let me know that the osprey perch has also gone and there is sure to be more damage to be found yet.
Take care out there!
