I sat and enjoyed the tranquil jostling and bustling of ducks on the water from Ivy South Hide this morning. The gadwalls were being particularly noisy right in front of the hide and the males seemed to be showing off to each other. They would dip their heads down onto their chest and then throw their heads up in the air lifting their chests out of the water and releasing a loud but low quack as they did it. Most entertaining!
I have not heard of anything out of the usual today at Blashford, however one visitor had come up from Ringwood where he had seen a glossy ibis and the great white egret standing in the same field. Not something you see everyday!
