Tern Hide now open again…

… and although the car park remained closed today, as long as there is no more significant rainfall tonight the car park should also be open again by tomorrow, though there is still likely to be a reasonable amount of water in there as well as some flood borne debris, so do take care as you enter and leave.

Other significant news from today; I finally saw my first bittern of the winter from Ivy North Hide while opening up. Actually saw is a bit of an exaggeration. Blink and I would have missed it as it crossed from one side of the “reed ride” to the other, but it was at least a view of a complete bittern, albeit momentarily, rather than the brief glimpse through a dense reed bed that is all that many get! Other visitors reported good sightings of a bittern (the bittern?) later on in the morning too.
